Every experience in my life, including the setbacks, achievements, fears, and successes, taught me the strength, compassion and perseverance I needed to chase my dreams. I am thankful for the opportunities in my life that have led me here, in a position to serve and guide others.

I faced a crossroads in my life – as I sat at my cubical, on the phone for most of the day, I began to question: Is this what I want to do for the rest of my life?

Before this, I worked in youth ministry at my church. I  had a genuine passion for making a positive impact  on young people's lives. What started as a  volunteer opportunity blossomed into a 12-year  career as a youth pastor.

It was an incredible journey, leading large ministries and becoming a part of such an amazing community of people.

However, the weight of responsibility and the demands of the role were taking away from time with my own growing family. I transitioned to the mortgage industry, where I learned the intricacies of the mortgage process.

However, three years went by, and I knew for certain this was not my passion. This realization led me to reflect on my earliest dreams. Back in high school, I was eager to graduate and start a career in real estate. This was inspired by a REALTOR® I had met who truly inspired me. His lifestyle, confidence, and outlook captivated me – he seemed incredibly happy and content helping people through such an important life decision.

That dream was put on the back burner, and I set off on a path that led me to sales, working as a territory sales representative for a clothing company. This practical sales experience, coupled with the many lessons I learned as a youth pastor, gave me all the knowledge and experience I needed to finally enter the real estate industry.

I had faith that I was being guided into the exact circumstances and scenarios I needed to be successful.

While working full-time in mortgage operations, I attended real estate school and obtained my license. A year later, I took a leap of faith and started my own business.

The journey wasn't without its challenges. I had to learn to navigate the distractions and shiny objects that promised success. But I remained focused on building meaningful relationships and providing exceptional service to my clients. I sought training and guidance from experienced agents who helped me develop my skills and grow my business.

I must admit that the decision to pursue real estate full-time wasn't easy for my family. Leaving the stability and security of a regular job was a leap of faith for both my wife, Lisa, and me. Yet, with a safety net in place and her support, I embarked on this new chapter. I am incredibly proud of my business – my core values are represented through my work, and that is the greatest achievement for me!

Faith has been vital in our lives. Through the church, we find strength and positivity amidst hard times. It is also important to me to support non-profits, helping families in need. We currently work with Hope Match and Beds for Kids, always striving to make a positive impact in our community.

Our kids truly are the greatest source of pride for my wife and I. Our oldest, Walker, is a talented musician who plays in bands and is planning to get a music degree. Fletcher, like me, is entrepreneurial and excels as a guitarist. Cooper, our youngest son, is a passionate athlete. Our daughter, Eliana, is very artistic and loves being outside. We love spending time with our kids and family dog, Shelby, as often as possible. When not with our family, Lisa and I are avid Carolina Panthers fans. I also enjoy golf and trout fishing.

Maintaining the highest level of service has become one of my personal goals. My work in ministry, supporting individuals and families through various life events, has taught me to navigate situations with empathy and compassion. Buying or selling a home can be one of the most significant and stressful decisions in a person's life. I provide a level of counsel and support that goes beyond the transactional aspect of real estate. I aim to help my clients make informed decisions that align with their best interests, even if it means advising against a particular property or waiting for a more suitable opportunity.

Moreover, my experience in mortgage operations enables me to offer a unique perspective to firsttime homebuyers. I guide you through the complexities of the mortgage process, explaining everything from pre-qualification to closing. Building long-lasting relationships with my clients is important to me, and I strive to be your trusted advisor beyond the real estate transaction. Whether it be recommending reliable contractors, providing maintenance advice or offering guidance on property management – I am here for all your needs!

Sincerely,

Joseph McMurry
